SUSTAINABLE LIFE

We told you our mission is to solve problems with sustainable solutions, right?  Our name may say 'Clean Water' but we are far more than that.  One of our primary methods of economic sustainability come from mining and extraction of natural resources. We use the Natural Resources to fund Development.  Liberia is extremely rich in many precious minerals and natural resources. Unfortunately this has not equated to clean water, housing, education or health clinics for the owners of the Land.  We deeply believe in the old adage.  "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; you have fed him for a lifetime." We're committed to teaching, not giving to make a difference. Here's how:

BUSINESS

Though we supply Hollow Fiber Membrane Filters to individual households and villages, we also use water drilling rigs to bore water holes in and throughout the rural areas to supply entire communities with clean water year round.  We utilize both trailer units and mounted water drilling machines.  There is a lack of clean water in most rural areas in Liberia, water-borne and water-based diseases are the primary cause of preventable illness and premature deaths in these villages, with children being particularly vulnerable.

This  clean    water

boring   contingent is

deeply needed in  the

rural   county    of

River   Cess.    The

metropolitan   areas

of   Monrovia    have

benefited   from bored

wells   and      other

government sponsored

piped water lines to specified areas.  As a result, the inhabitants of these areas do not face the same water borne pollutants as the rural areas in River Cess.  After we have bored clean water holes in these counties we will bore holes throughout the neighboring counties and villages.

Although the geographical climate of Liberia is a tropical rain forest with fresh water following right beneath the surface, the lack of proper technology does not equate to nature’s clean water sources benefiting the people.  Despite the aqueous climate, the native people groups in the rural areas are largely pained with drinking water that is murky, cloudy and not fit for human consumption.  During the dry season, hundreds of collective hours are spent each month transporting unclean water, by hand, to the villages; this same time could be spent doing more productive activities, such as attending school or growing crops. In addition to the obvious health benefits, this project will bring a local clean water source allowing for a reallocation of time toward more productive activities such as cultivation of agricultural crops throughout the year through irrigation. This provides agricultural sustainability that can be used to increase the quality of life in the village, including education, medical care, and access to technology. CleanWatertoAfrica.Org funds strategic partners that will answer the call to bring due attention and development in these needed areas, but it is not solely about clean water, it is community development, empowerment and sustainability.

With this Water Drilling Rig, CWA can bore water holes across the rural areas of Liberia.  Many people have asked, 'Where are the major development companies and NGO's in the area?  What are they doing?'  While we may not be able to answer for the development initiatives of specific companies, the majority of development initiatives largely benefit the areas surrounding their work site alone.  CleanWatertoAfrica.Org (CWA) is committed to manifesting development initiatives from the resources in the ground, to the benefit of people from all over the country.

Help us accomplish these initiatives by donating today.  Every little bit helps! LEARN MORE about how to acquire the necessary technology for development in our PROJECT NEEDS section here.

MINING

Currently CleanWaterToAfrica.Org (CWA) has mining licenses to extract and export AU (Gold) in any amount.  Our aim is to bridge the gap in the flow of economic revenue in and throughout Liberia.  As it pertains to minerals and other natural resources, the natives are not experiencing the bulk benefits.  The majority of all Mineral, Diamond and Crude Oil licenses are held by foreigners whom take the profit capital and natural resource out of the community of Liberia.  CWA is bridging this gap between  the strongholds of capitalism and the  needed development of the indigenous  populace.  Through development initiatives and other  social agreements CWA is empowering the indigenous to  harness these natural resources for themselves via proper ownership initiatives. We are administrating and  demonstrating the process setup by the  Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy in Liberia, to give the native people access to places that other Multi-National Corporations are paying hundreds of thousands to Millions of United States Dollars to obtain.  This is done in efforts to supply the Liberian people with legal access to their inheritance; the Natural Resource of the Land on which they live and die.

Please partner with us and help us purchase equipment that will enable recovery of the minerals of the Land and utilize them for the needed development.

DREDGING

8” River Dredge-  This equipment is used on the river to extract material like Gold and Diamonds that lie on the river bed.  It is mounted on flotation modules with large carpeted decks and contains a sluice box.  The first section is 3-stage sluice box for fine and coarse gold and the second half is dedicated for the efficient recovery of gemstones (Diamonds & Rubies).  It is one of the most efficient industrial dredges on the market, powered by twin 23 HP Electric start Vanguard commercial gasoline engines, for long life, reliability and economic efficiency.

EDUCATION

Liberian education is going through reform.  Currently the education system is in a post-conflict state, whereby school buildings are either destroyed or unfit for instruction.  As a result many Liberian youth either find themselves having to attend privately funded schools at their own expense, or trying to cram into substandard public schools where they are many years above the normal student’s age of attendance.  Furthermore, although the speaking language is English, the syntax and annunciation of their words are largely unintelligible to other English speakers nor can they understand most non-Liberian english speakers.  Oftentimes, they are taught by Native Liberians whom, while they are educated, are unfortunately teaching improper English dialect and further perpetuating the language faux pa.

CWA will build learning centers/schools that educate from a cognitive learning perspective.  In some places we simply build the structures and the government supplies the teachers via their government programs.  In other places, we place our own teachers (many whom have already volunteered) and we will focus on phonics, syntax and diction and employ the  A Beka Curriculum in these Learning Centres.  Our plans are to build All-Purpose building structures that resemble learning classes with recreational centers attached.  These Educational Recreation Centers (EduRecs) will be used for a variety of purposes that will service the community as a whole. Possible uses include but are not limited to; computer labs, clinics, media rooms (showing educational cartoons/videos), biblical study and community gathering facility.

Building these community all-purpose centers does not require a handout. These centers can be built and make a generational impact on human capital by organizations like CWA.  We are able to produce long term development aide by utilizing modern technology to extract and procure, by establishing accountable leadership, and by pooling of resources and information for the common goal.
